What's Happening?
Air Dolomiti, an Italian regional carrier and part of the Lufthansa Group, is set to expand its fleet with the acquisition of Embraer 195LR aircraft from Austrian Airlines. Austrian Airlines plans to phase out its 17 Embraer 195LRs by 2028, with 13 of these
aircraft being transferred to Air Dolomiti. The first aircraft is expected to arrive in December and will be operational by March 2026. Currently, Air Dolomiti operates nine Embraer 190s and 17 E195s, and the smaller E190s will be gradually replaced by the incoming E195s. By the end of 2028, Air Dolomiti's fleet will consist of 30 E195s. The carrier aims to expand its network, although specific plans are yet to be detailed.
