The Northern Territory Government has launched a new strategy through its entity, Tourism and Events Northern Territory, aimed at boosting the region's visitor economy by 2032. The strategy outlines goals to increase visitor spending from $1.5 billion
to $2.2 billion and overnight trips from 1.2 million to 1.5 million. The initiative seeks to enhance year-round visitation, investment, and liveability across the Northern Territory. The region has already seen significant growth, with a 19% increase in total visitors and a 13% rise in visitor expenditure. The strategy is informed by extensive consultation and research, focusing on infrastructure investment, connectivity, workforce development, global perception, and expanding experience offerings.
