What's Happening?
The Lynwood Library in Los Angeles County has officially reopened following an extensive $8 million renovation. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held on September 4, was attended by Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn, Fourth District, LA County Library Director
Dr. Skye Patrick, and members of the Lynwood community. This renovation marks the first significant upgrade to the 12,000-square-foot library since its original construction in 1977. The project aimed to modernize the facility, expand community use areas, and integrate updated technology to better serve patrons of all ages. Key improvements include dedicated areas for adults, teens, and children, an enlarged community room, two group study rooms, a new customer service desk, express self-checkout machines, public access computers, and Wi-Fi. Additionally, two large skylights have been installed to enhance natural lighting, and drought-tolerant landscaping has been implemented on the exterior.
