What's Happening?
The J.W. & M.H. Straker Charitable Foundation distributed over $6 million in grants during 2025, supporting a variety of projects in Muskingum County. The foundation awarded large grants exceeding $150,000 to local organizations, including the City of Zanesville
for a pre-event space at Secrest Auditorium and Muskingum Behavioral Health for infrastructure improvements. Additionally, the Muskingum Valley Education Service Center launched the Little Farmers Academy with foundation support. The foundation also provided smaller grants to 34 organizations in January and 23 in August, addressing needs in animal care, poverty abatement, community health, arts, and education.
