What's Happening?
The Junior League of Cleveland (JLC) is accepting scholarship applications for its Women Reclaiming Their Education program, which supports women in Greater Cleveland whose educational paths have been interrupted. Scholarships of up to $5,000 are available,
and the application deadline is February 1, 2026. The program, established in 2004, has expanded to include women who have aged out of foster care. Eligible applicants must be nontraditional students or women who have aged out of foster care, pursuing accredited college or technical programs in Ohio. The scholarships aim to remove barriers such as childcare and transportation costs, enabling women to continue their education.
Why It's Important?
This scholarship initiative highlights the ongoing efforts to support nontraditional students, particularly women, in overcoming obstacles to education. By providing financial assistance for tuition and essential needs, the program addresses critical barriers that often prevent women from completing their education. This support is vital for empowering women to achieve their academic and career goals, contributing to greater economic independence and societal participation. The program also reflects a broader commitment to educational equity and the importance of supporting diverse educational pathways.
