What's Happening?
The United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) has announced the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2026. Midshipman John Walter Smolenski, majoring in Maritime Logistics and Security, has been named valedictorian with a GPA of 3.87. Midshipman Connor
Conrad Crymes, a Marine Engineering Systems major, is the salutatorian with a GPA of 3.83. Both graduates have demonstrated exceptional academic performance and leadership. Smolenski plans to join the International Organization of Masters, Mates & Pilots, while Crymes will serve as a Third Assistant Engineer with the U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command. Both will commission as Ensigns in the U.S. Navy Reserve. The Academy's 90th Commencement Ceremony is scheduled for June 22nd.
