What's Happening?
The Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) is accepting applications for its post-secondary scholarship program, available to high school seniors who are children of KFB members. The application deadline is February 28. The program offers scholarships in over 50
categories, including options for nontraditional students. In 2025, the program awarded $810,150 in scholarships to 601 students. The scholarships are funded through a partnership between the KFB Education Foundation and county Farm Bureaus, aiming to support students' educational pursuits and future careers.
Why It's Important?
Scholarships from organizations like the Kentucky Farm Bureau play a crucial role in making higher education accessible to more students, particularly those from rural areas. By reducing financial barriers, these scholarships enable students to pursue further education, which can lead to better job opportunities and economic mobility. For the agricultural community, investing in education helps ensure a knowledgeable and skilled future workforce, which is vital for the sustainability and growth of the industry. The program also reflects a commitment to supporting rural communities and their development.
