What's Happening?
The Northeast Delta Human Services Authority (NEDHSA) and Louisiana Delta Community College (LDCC) have formed a partnership to provide educational and workforce opportunities for women in the R.I.S.E. program. This initiative supports mothers recovering
from substance use disorders by offering access to education, vocational training, and workforce certifications. The collaboration aims to foster long-term independence and recovery, equipping participants with the skills needed to reintegrate into society.
Why It's Important?
This partnership addresses critical gaps in support for women recovering from addiction, emphasizing the role of education and workforce development in achieving self-sufficiency. By providing tailored educational pathways and support services, the initiative not only aids individual recovery but also contributes to community resilience and economic stability. The program serves as a model for integrating health and education services to support vulnerable populations.
