Francis John Piatek, Jr., a respected artist and professor of painting and drawing at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, has passed away at the age of 81. Born on December 9, 1944, Piatek was known for his contributions to the art community in Chicago and his dedication
to teaching. He is survived by his partner, Judith Geichman, his sister, Carolyn Piatek, and his nephew and niece, Paul and Jessica Piatek. A funeral service is scheduled to be held at Lakeview Funeral Home in Chicago on January 13, 2026.
