What's Happening?
KNDS Deutschland has signed a contract with TATRA DEFENCE for the production of 150 hulls for the LEOPARD 2 A8 main battle tank, with the potential to produce up to 300 additional hulls. This agreement includes quality control and welding responsibilities
for TATRA DEFENCE, and aims to expand production to other platforms like the LEGUAN bridge-laying system. The collaboration is part of a broader European defense initiative, with the Czech Republic committed to the LEOPARD 2 A8 program. The contract, valued at approximately €1.34 billion ($1.57 billion), also includes extensive service support and specific adaptations.
