The Berkeley County School District recently held its annual OneBerkeley Back to School Festival at the Moncks Corner Regional Recreation Complex. The event, aimed at easing the financial burden on families, distributed 3,000 backpacks filled with school
supplies to students on a first-come, first-served basis. Superintendent Anthony Dixon emphasized the importance of starting the school year with the necessary supplies to ensure a strong educational foundation. The festival featured over 22 tents staffed by community members and organizations, offering additional resources and activities such as jump castles and face painting. The event also included performances by the Berkeley High Blue Brigade and food provided by the district’s Child Nutrition Services.
