The Allegany County Area Foundation (ACAF) has awarded $387,240 in scholarships to over 200 students from Allegany County for the 2026-2027 academic year. These scholarships are intended to support students pursuing higher education and career training.
The recipients come from various school districts within the county, including Alfred-Almond, Andover, Belfast, Bolivar-Richburg, Cuba-Rushford, Fillmore, Friendship, Genesee Valley, Scio, Wellsville, and Whitesville, as well as Houghton Academy and local homeschool programs. The scholarships cover a wide range of fields, with nursing being the most popular, followed by education and skilled trades.
