What's Happening?
Governor Kathy Hochul has announced a $20 million investment in community-based organizations providing youth services and support across 10 municipalities in New York State. Yonkers is one of the communities receiving $2 million through Project RISE
(Respond, Invest, Sustain, Empower). This funding aims to strengthen youth development, mental health services, and increase economic and educational opportunities for young people, while also addressing the underlying causes of violence. The initiative supports a wide range of programs, including mentoring, arts, athletics, financial literacy, and job training.
