What's Happening?
Plan International Liberia (PIL), acting as the Principal Recipient for TB/HIV components and C19RM under Global Fund (GC7) grants, has issued an Invitation to Tender (ITT) for qualified and experienced printing companies. The organization, in collaboration
with the Ministry of Health Liberia (MOH/NLTCP), seeks printing services for assorted tools essential for program implementation. This initiative is part of PIL's broader efforts to strengthen Liberia's health infrastructure and systems, focusing on improving healthcare infrastructure, supply chain systems, and the country's capacity to deliver quality health services. Interested bidders are invited to download the full ITT package and submit physical copies of their bids by October 16, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Plan International Liberia Country Office in Monrovia. The bid opening is scheduled for the same day at 10:30 am. Women-owned businesses and companies actively engaged in advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment are particularly encouraged to apply.
Why It's Important?
This tender is crucial for the continued strengthening of Liberia's health sector, particularly in the fight against TB/HIV and in managing COVID-19 response mechanisms. By procuring printing services for program tools, Plan International Liberia facilitates the dissemination of vital information, training materials, and operational documents necessary for effective health interventions. This directly impacts the ability of healthcare providers and community health workers to deliver services, educate the public, and manage health crises. The emphasis on inviting women-owned businesses also promotes economic empowerment and gender equality within Liberia, aligning with broader development goals. Successful implementation of these programs can lead to improved public health outcomes, reduced disease burden, and a more resilient healthcare system in the country, ultimately contributing to the well-being of its citizens.
What's Next?
Following the submission deadline on October 16, 2026, Plan International Liberia will proceed with the bid opening and evaluation process. Qualified printing companies will be selected to provide the necessary services, enabling the production of assorted tools for the Global Fund GC7 interventions. This will allow PIL and the MOH/NLTCP to advance their efforts in strengthening Liberia's health infrastructure and systems. The successful execution of these printing contracts will directly support ongoing and future health programs, ensuring that essential materials are available for healthcare initiatives. The organization will also continue to expand its existing supplier list, fostering broader participation from local businesses, especially those that are women-owned or promote gender equality.
Beyond the Headlines
The procurement of printing services, while seemingly administrative, underpins the operational success of critical public health initiatives in developing nations. Beyond the immediate need for printed materials, this tender reflects a commitment to building local capacity and fostering economic development through inclusive procurement practices. By encouraging women-owned businesses, Plan International Liberia is not only addressing a logistical need but also contributing to systemic change that empowers women entrepreneurs and promotes gender equity in the business sector. This approach recognizes that sustainable development extends beyond direct health interventions to include economic and social empowerment, creating a more robust and equitable society capable of addressing its own challenges.
