Deputy Commissioner of Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, has called for public participation in the digital self-enumeration phase of Census 2027, set to begin on May 17, 2026. The initiative allows residents to complete census forms online, with the portal opening
at 6:00 AM. This phase will be followed by door-to-door operations starting June 1, 2026. Dr. Minhas emphasized the importance of this exercise for national development and assured residents of the confidentiality and security of their data. The initiative aims to enhance efficiency and accuracy in data collection.
