What's Happening?
The Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), under the Ministry of Power, is set to launch a Smart LED Street Lighting Project in Andhra Pradesh. This initiative aims to enhance energy efficiency and promote sustainable urban development across 123
Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the state. The project will replace nearly 10.50 lakh street lights with Individual Light Monitoring (ILM)-enabled smart LED street lights, integrated with a centralized control and monitoring system. The initial phase will cover 7.50 lakh lights, with an additional three lakh lights included under the extended scope. This project is part of the next generation of the Street Lighting National Programme (SLNP), which combines intelligent lighting controls, real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and digital asset management.
