What's Happening?
Discovery Green, the renewable-energy arm of Discovery Limited, and Glencore Operations South Africa have entered into a 20-year agreement to supply renewable energy to Glencore's coal mines. Starting
in 2027, Discovery Green will provide renewable energy to the Goedgevonden, Tweefontein, and iMpunzi mine complexes, significantly reducing carbon emissions and stabilizing electricity costs. This partnership supports Glencore's Climate Action Transition Plan and reflects its commitment to sustainability and energy security.
