Corinthia Hotels has announced plans to open a new luxury hotel and residences in Chengdu's Gaoxin District by 2032. The project, a collaboration with ShiLong Industry Co and The Geminus Group, will feature a 225-meter mixed-use tower comprising approximately
150 hotel rooms and suites, along with 60 branded residences. The development is part of a larger master plan currently under construction in Chengdu's South Central Activity Zone, with a total investment of around RMB 4.0 billion. The site will be located at the intersection of Tianfu Avenue and Tianfu First Street, adjacent to the Gui Xi urban park. The design aims to meet contemporary standards of luxury and sustainability, offering panoramic views across the city.
Why It's Important?

This development not only enhances Chengdu's appeal as a destination for high-end tourism and business travel but also reflects the growing demand for luxury accommodations in China's urban centers. The project represents a substantial investment in the region, potentially boosting local employment and economic activity. Furthermore, it underscores Corinthia Hotels' strategic expansion into the Chinese market, aligning with broader trends of international hotel chains seeking to capitalize on China's burgeoning middle class and increasing domestic travel.
What's Next?
As the Corinthia Chengdu project progresses, stakeholders will likely focus on ensuring the development meets its projected timeline and budget. The collaboration between Corinthia Hotels, ShiLong Industry Co, and The Geminus Group will be crucial in navigating construction challenges and regulatory requirements.
