Why It's Important?
This recruitment highlights the IFRC's commitment to strengthening its operational capabilities and humanitarian efforts in the East Asia region, a critical area comprising 1.6 billion people. By seeking a seasoned professional for this HR and Administration role, the IFRC aims to enhance its support for local Red Cross Societies in both disaster response and sustainable development initiatives. Effective management of human resources and administrative functions is crucial for the smooth execution of humanitarian programs, ensuring that staff are well-supported and operations comply with international standards and local laws. This strategic hire will contribute to the IFRC's broader mission of building community resilience in areas such as climate and environment, health and wellbeing, and migration and displacement, ultimately impacting the well-being of vulnerable populations across East Asia.

The manager will play a key role in fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and respect within the delegation. Furthermore, by strengthening the operational backbone of the IFRC in East Asia, this position indirectly contributes to humanitarian diplomacy and the development of National Societies, enabling them to respond more effectively to regional crises and long-term development needs. The role also reflects the growing importance of efficient organizational management in maximizing the impact of humanitarian aid.
