What's Happening?
Lakewood, Ohio, is undergoing significant urban development, spearheaded by CASTO’s $119 million Lakewood Common project on the former Lakewood Hospital site. The first building of this mixed-use development, located at 14519 Detroit Ave., has reached
its final height and will house 132 apartments and 25,000 square feet of retail space. The project also includes a 17,000-square-foot plaza and the renovation of the historic Curtis Block building for additional apartments and retail. Concurrently, DiGeronimo Development received approval for 'The View on Detroit,' which will feature two four-story buildings with a total of 110 apartments and ground-level retail. Beyond residential and commercial growth, Lakewood is investing $8 million in renovations for the Winterhurst Ice Arena and undertaking two major infrastructure projects: a $21.6 million upgrade to Bunts Road’s water, storm drain, and sewer mains, and the construction of the $11 million Lake-Clifton Connector, a 1.2-mile pedestrian and cycling path.
