The Veterans Training & Employment Center (VTEC) has announced that its workforce model is projected to save the federal government over $100 million in Unemployment Compensation for Ex-Service members (UCX). VTEC's model accelerates the transition of
service members into civilian employment by providing short-term, high-demand training aligned with guaranteed job placement. This approach reduces reliance on UCX benefits, which cost the government approximately $18,000 to $25,000 per unemployed service member annually. VTEC's expansion includes the National Military Training & Hiring Campus at Fort Gillem and additional regional base camps.
