Jordan's Energy and Mineral Resources Minister, Saleh Kharabsheh, announced that the Risha gas field's production is expected to reach 418 million cubic feet per day by 2029, surpassing the country's current national electricity grid demand of 330 to 340
million cubic feet daily. The ministry is implementing plans under the Economic Modernisation Vision to expand natural gas distribution to industrial centers across Jordan. This includes direct pipeline connections and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations. The expansion aims to increase demand for locally produced gas, with tenders already awarded for drilling 80 wells and plans to build a pipeline linking the Risha field to the Arab Gas Pipeline.
