Sally-Ann Whelan, a dedicated nurse and community member, passed away on December 31, 2025. Her life and contributions are being commemorated through a memorial scholarship fund at St. John Fisher University School of Nursing. Sally-Ann graduated from
Columbia University School of Nursing in 1961 and worked at Flushing Hospital before taking a 24-year break to focus on her family. She returned to nursing in 1987, earning a Master's in Nursing from the University of Rochester and specializing as a Nurse Practitioner in Wound, Ostomy, Continence, and Skin care. Sally-Ann was also an active member of her community, engaging in activities such as bridge playing and participating in the Chatterbox club. Her funeral services are scheduled for January 16 and 17, 2026, in Rochester, New York.
