What's Happening?
Hala Raja Khatib, a student at Al-Hekma Middle School in Tamra, was killed in an Iranian missile strike on her family home in June. The attack also claimed the lives of her sister, mother, and aunt. In
her memory, students at her school participated in a Rube Goldberg machine competition, part of the Shavit program led by the Davidson Institute of Science Education. The project, designed in mourning colors, serves as a tribute to Hala's passion for science and innovation. Her classmates and teachers remember her as a bright and dedicated student, and the project has become a symbol of resilience and community healing.
