The Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN) has announced it will co-host the 2027 Global Investigative Journalism Conference (GIJC27) in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The event, scheduled from October 20 to October 23, 2027, with a pre-conference day
on October 19, will be the 15th iteration of the world's largest international gathering for investigative reporters and editors. GIJN will partner with the Dutch-Flemish Association of Investigative Journalists (VVOJ), which previously hosted the conference in Amsterdam in 2005. Additional regional partners include Journalismfund Europe and Free Press Unlimited. The conference will take place at de Doelen ICC Rotterdam, a large concert and congress center. GIJC27 will feature training sessions on the latest tools and techniques, workshops, and networking opportunities. The event will also recognize the biennial Global Shining Light Award winners, honoring investigative journalism conducted under challenging conditions. A robust fellowship program is planned to support journalists from the Global South and other regions in attending the conference.
