Maui County is set to launch two competitive grant programs aimed at supporting workforce development and public services as part of its recovery efforts from the 2023 Maui Wildfires. The programs, under the Ho‘okumu Hou initiative, will provide funding
to nonprofits and government agencies working to aid community recovery. A virtual information session is scheduled for August 6 to guide potential applicants through the process. The Economic Revitalization Ka ‘Imi ‘Ike Program will focus on workforce development, while the Public Services Program will support essential services like health and wellness, disaster case management, and homelessness outreach.
