Edgewing, a trinational consortium, is establishing global sites in the UK, Italy, and Japan to support the Global Combat Air Program (GCAP). This initiative aims to develop a new fighter aircraft to replace existing models like the Eurofighter and Mitsubishi
F-2. The consortium, comprising BAE Systems, Leonardo, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, is setting up facilities in Warton, Turin, and Nagoya. These sites will facilitate the development and production of the aircraft, with a focus on creating a seamless digital development environment. Edgewing has been awarded a significant contract to advance the aircraft's concept and assessment phase.
