Florida Highway Patrol officers made a surprising discovery during a routine traffic stop in Polk County. They found 13 live iguanas with their feet zip-tied in the bed of a truck driven by Rendon Casildo-Acdiel. The stop occurred because the truck lacked
a light for the license plate on the utility trailer it was towing. In addition to the iguanas, the driver was transporting five coolers of iced tilapia. Casildo-Acdiel, who was traveling from Miami to North Carolina, was found to have a suspended Georgia license and no Florida license. He was arrested for driving with a suspended license, and the iguanas were taken to a local shelter.
