The Flossmoor Library, in collaboration with School District 161's Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC), hosted its first Hispanic Heritage Month event. The program aimed to celebrate cultural diversity and included activities such as crafting piñatas, bilingual storytelling, and playing Lotería, a traditional Mexican game similar to Bingo. The event was designed to engage bilingual families and foster cultural understanding among children. Library Director Jamie Paicely noted the community's enthusiastic response and the importance of representing Hispanic and Asian families within the community. The event also featured a photo booth and craft tables, allowing children to create and take home cultural artifacts.
