The delegation includes 39 agribusinesses, trade organizations, and representatives from three state departments of agriculture. Taiwan is a significant market for U.S. agricultural products, ranking as the eighth-largest globally. The mission follows a recent announcement by Taiwanese officials to increase their purchases of U.S. agricultural products by 30% over the next four years. The U.S. currently holds a $3.1 billion agricultural trade surplus with Taiwan, with exports valued at $3.8 billion in 2024.
