What's Happening?
Iveco Bus has been awarded a significant contract under the Consip tender in Italy to supply 80 compressed natural gas (CNG) powered minibuses. The contract includes 30 Class I urban vehicles and 50 Class II interurban vehicles. These vehicles are equipped
with advanced features such as an eight-speed automatic gearbox, rear air suspension, and high-capacity methane tanks for extended range. Safety features include advanced driver assistance systems, a fire suppression system, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. The urban models can accommodate 14 seated and 14 standing passengers, with space for wheelchair users, while the interurban models offer 22 seated places and space for passengers with reduced mobility. Giorgio Zino, Head of Iveco Bus Commercial Operations in Europe, emphasized the importance of this award in supporting the ecological transition of public transport.
