Saudia, the national airline of Saudi Arabia, has taken delivery of its first Airbus A321XLR, marking a significant milestone as the first airline in the Middle East and Africa to operate this extra-long-range narrowbody aircraft. The delivery, which
was initially expected in 2024, took place on May 24 at Saudia's hub in Jeddah. This aircraft is the first of 15 A321XLRs that Saudia has ordered as part of its fleet expansion and modernization strategy, with all deliveries expected to be completed by the end of 2027. The A321XLR is equipped with CFM International Leap-1A engines, offering a range of up to 8,700 nautical miles and a flight time of up to 11 hours. Saudia's new aircraft features a low-density cabin configuration with 24 full flat-bed business-class seats and 120 economy seats, enhancing passenger comfort and service.
