What's Happening?
Whistler Blackcomb has reported an early snowfall of nearly 1.5 meters ahead of its scheduled opening day on November 21, marking the start of the 2025/26 ski and ride season. This season is notable for
several milestone anniversaries, including Whistler Mountain's 60th and Blackcomb Mountain's 45th anniversaries. New this year is the introduction of Wonder Routes, a curated network of trails designed to enhance the skiing and boarding experience. These routes include the Gold Medal Route and the Apres Route, offering unique ways to explore the mountain. Current Epic Australia Pass holders can enjoy lift access at Whistler Blackcomb, and the 2026 Epic Australia Pass is now available for purchase, providing access to multiple resorts worldwide.
Why It's Important?
The early snowfall and new attractions at Whistler Blackcomb are significant for the tourism and local economy, as they are likely to attract a large number of visitors, boosting business for local hotels, restaurants, and shops. The introduction of Wonder Routes adds value to the skiing experience, potentially increasing the resort's appeal to both new and returning visitors. The availability of the Epic Australia Pass also highlights the interconnectedness of global ski resorts, encouraging international travel and tourism. This development underscores the importance of innovation in maintaining competitiveness in the tourism industry.
