Daikin and ForeFront Power Launch Rooftop Solar Project in Mexico to Boost Clean Energy

Daikin Manufacturing México, in collaboration with ForeFront Power, has completed a 1.2 megawatt-DC rooftop solar project at its facilities in San Luis Potosí. The solar arrays, located on the rooftops of two production plants, will generate approximately 1,180,000 kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually, enough to power over 160 homes each year. This initiative is part of Daikin's Environmental Vision 2050, aiming for carbon neutrality by mid-century. The project was delivered at no upfront cost to Daikin, with ForeFront Power owning and maintaining the system under a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement.

Why It's Important?

The rooftop solar project is a strategic step towards Daikin's goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. It demonstrates how manufacturers can control energy costs and reduce supply chain emissions. The clean energy produced will help reduce CO2 emissions by nearly 900 tons per year, equivalent to removing 180 gas-powered vehicles from the road annually.
