William (Billy) Lee Borden, a 58-year-old resident of Mindenmines, Missouri, passed away on July 21, 2026. Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Borden moved to Girard in 1970 and graduated from Girard High School. He worked as a mechanic and later at Mid-Continental
Restoration in Fort Scott, retiring after 28 years. Borden was known for his love of family, nature, and community activities, including his membership in the Sons of the American Legion of Erie, Kansas. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and other family members. A service will be held on August 1, 2026, at Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard.
