What's Happening?
Worcestershire County Council has installed 100 trauma kits in community spaces across the county to enhance emergency preparedness. These kits, funded by the council, are designed for use by individuals
without medical training to stabilize casualties in emergency situations until professional help arrives. The initiative began in November 2024, in line with the Protection of Premises Bill, known as Martyn's Law, which was introduced following the Manchester Arena attack. The kits contain trauma dressings and tourniquets and are part of a broader commitment to community safety and wellbeing. Heart of Worcestershire College was among the first to adopt the kits, with six installed across its campuses, providing staff and students with a sense of security.
