What's Happening?
Realtors and volunteers across Florida are participating in the 'Clean Up Florida Waters' initiative, organized by Florida Realtors. This annual event, now in its sixth year, aims to clean up beaches, lakes, and other waterways throughout the state. In
2025, the initiative covered 239 miles and involved nearly 2,050 participants who removed almost 16 tons of trash. The program encourages local communities to organize cleanup events and collaborate with environmental groups like the Coastal Conservation Association and Keep Florida Beautiful. The effort is supported by sponsors such as Stellar MLS and Coast 2 Coast MLS Data Share.
Why It's Important?
The 'Clean Up Florida Waters' initiative is crucial for maintaining the environmental health of Florida's waterways, which are vital to the state's tourism and real estate industries. Clean waterways enhance the quality of life for residents and attract visitors, boosting local economies. The initiative also raises awareness about environmental conservation and encourages community involvement in sustainability efforts. By partnering with established environmental organizations, the program leverages expertise and resources to maximize its impact.
