The U.S. government has approved a potential sale of equipment to Ukraine to upgrade its Patriot air defense launchers to the latest configuration. This decision, announced by the Defense Security Cooperation
Agency, involves a possible foreign military sale valued at up to $105 million. The main contractors for this deal are RTX Corp. and Lockheed Martin, both of which are key manufacturers of Patriot systems and missiles. The U.S. initially provided Patriot systems to Ukraine in April 2023, following Russia's invasion. These systems are crucial for Ukraine's defense against ongoing Russian missile and drone attacks. The sale includes upgrading Ukraine's M901 Patriot launchers to the M903 configuration, which can fire various types of Patriot missiles, including the advanced PAC-3 MSE.
