Mabel St. Jean-Harris, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 100 on August 30, 2025. Born Michalina Boryskiewich in Ukraine, she emigrated to Canada at the age of two. Mabel met her husband, Roland St. Jean, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and together they had three children. The family moved to the Chicago area in 1957, where Mabel became a cherished figure in her community. Known for her love of reading, crafting, and gardening, Mabel was also an excellent cook, famous for her borscht and Christmas cookies. Her volunteer work at a local resale shop supported the Crisis Center for the South Suburbs. Mabel's legacy is one of kindness and support, remembered fondly by her family and friends.
