The Paulding County Business Advisory Council recently convened to discuss workforce development and student engagement initiatives. Thirteen community members, including school administrators and business
leaders, attended the meeting. The council is promoting the Youth Business Showcase scheduled for November 22, where seven youth businesses will present their ideas. Schools are utilizing YouScience aptitude data to help students identify career paths, and efforts are underway to connect students with real-world experiences. Paulding School is hosting a career exploration event next week, and an after-school welding cohort will return to Paulding High School after the holidays. Antwerp Junior High School plans a similar event in February, and Wayne Trace Local School is developing a STEAM Center. The 'Build Your Future' event in Van Wert offered hands-on skill opportunities, and Ohio TechCred was discussed as a tool for upskilling the workforce.
