Tribal Energy Alternatives has allocated $3.2 million in grant funding to 14 Tribal Nations, along with Tribal-serving organizations and community-serving entities. This funding is aimed at enhancing solar energy access, workforce development, and long-term
energy resilience. The initiative is part of a broader effort to support tribal energy sovereignty and build community power across Indian Country. The grants will facilitate the installation of approximately 1496 kW of solar power, with many installations expected to be carried out by tribal contractors and trainees. The organization has already trained 26 tribal individuals in the first quarter of 2026 through its trainee programs, with each project potentially training 4 to 8 additional trainees.
