The study involved a large sample size, comparing 12,004 patients using GLP-1 drugs to 15,221 using SGLT-2 inhibitors, and 11,964 GLP-1 users to 11,233 using DPP-4 inhibitors. The researchers suggest that rapid weight loss and nutritional changes, common with GLP-1 therapy, may contribute to this side effect.
