Mitsui Chemicals Group, in collaboration with the sustainability-focused organization PLASTIFY, organized a beach cleanup at Coney Island as part of their global initiative, Clean-up Caravan. This event, held on September 20, 2025, was in celebration of World Cleanup Day and involved 15 employees from Mitsui Chemicals Asia Pacific and their families. The team collected over 145kg of marine debris, including jerry cans, polystyrene foam, cigarette butts, and single-use plastic bags. This effort is part of a larger global movement aimed at addressing the mismanaged waste crisis and promoting environmental sustainability.
