What's Happening?
The Michigan City Redevelopment Commission has approved the term sheet for Project Wabash, a $20 million mixed-use, mixed-income development. Located at 7th and Wabash streets, the project will feature
five stories with 45 to 60 apartments and commercial space for three tenants, including an anchor restaurant. The apartments will offer both market and workforce rates, with units ranging from 1 bedroom/1 bath to 2 bedrooms/2 baths. Led by Julian Walters' Eminent Development Corporation, the project aims to transform an underutilized space into a vibrant community hub, supporting local businesses and revitalizing the area. The development is designed to meet the growing need for high-quality workforce housing, essential for retaining professionals such as teachers, police officers, and healthcare staff.
Why It's Important?
