What's Happening?
The 14th Annual Credit Union Sactown Run took place at Capitol Mall, attracting over 2,000 runners and walkers. This community event, organized by California's Credit Unions, supports Children's Miracle Network Hospitals across California and Nevada,
including UC Davis Children's Hospital. Annabelle Lee, the 2026 Miracle Child, participated in the event. Annabelle, a Sacramento-area teenager, underwent open heart surgery at UC Davis Children's Hospital as an infant due to a rare congenital heart defect. Her presence highlights the event's focus on raising awareness and funds for children's health initiatives.
Why It's Important?
The Sactown Run is a significant event for community engagement and fundraising for children's health. It brings together participants from various backgrounds to support hospitals that provide critical care to children with serious health conditions. The event not only raises funds but also increases awareness about congenital heart defects and other pediatric health issues. By featuring a Miracle Child like Annabelle Lee, the event personalizes the impact of donations and encourages continued support for medical research and treatment advancements.
