What's Happening?
The Made Smarter initiative is celebrating the latest cohort of its Leading Digital Transformation (LDT) program, which has equipped 12 small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) manufacturers with the skills to lead digital transformation in their industries.
The program, delivered in partnership with the University of Salford and Manchester Metropolitan University, combines face-to-face and online learning over 14 weeks. It provides manufacturing leaders with exposure to advanced technologies and creates valuable peer learning networks. Since its inception in 2023, the program has established 65 digital leaders, following the success of an earlier initiative that supported 62 business leaders.
Why It's Important?
The Made Smarter initiative is crucial for driving digital transformation in the manufacturing sector, particularly among SMEs. By equipping leaders with the necessary skills and strategies, the program helps businesses improve productivity and competitiveness through the adoption of new technologies. The initiative also fosters a culture of digital leadership, which is essential for navigating the complexities of digital transformation. As manufacturing continues to evolve, programs like Made Smarter play a vital role in ensuring that businesses can adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing landscape.
What's Next?
Manufacturers across the North West are invited to register for the next Leading Digital Transformation program, joining a growing ecosystem of digital leaders. The program aims to continue building a community of shared learning and collaboration, empowering manufacturers to adopt technology in a way that fits their business needs. By fostering a people-first approach, Made Smarter seeks to drive a wider culture of digital leadership in the UK manufacturing sector.
