Rueben Bain, a sophomore at the University of Miami, was involved in a serious car accident on March 17, 2024, while driving on Interstate 95 in Miami. According to police crash records, Bain's vehicle collided with another car and subsequently hit concrete
barriers on both sides of the highway. The crash resulted in severe injuries to one of Bain's passengers, Destiny Betts, a 22-year-old college student from Georgia. Betts, who was visiting Miami for spring break, was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center with incapacitating injuries and remained in a coma for nearly three months before passing away on June 13, 2024.
