What's Happening?
The City of Lawrence has modified its compost event to a self-load format due to an increased volume of material following recent severe thunderstorms. This change allows residents to drop off yard waste such as grass, leaves, and brush at the compost facility
located at 1420 E. 11th St. on May 2. Residents must bring their own tools for loading, as city equipment will not be available. The cost for yard waste dropoff is $10 for small and large loads, and $20 for extra-large loads. The event is exclusive to Lawrence residents, who must present a recent city utility bill and matching photo ID as proof of residency.
