William (Bill) Navratil, a notable figure in the food industry and an avid sports enthusiast, passed away on October 10, 2025, at the age of 79. Navratil was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Forest
Park. He had a long career in the food business, starting at White Way Foods in Maywood, Illinois, and eventually owning his own brokerage business. Navratil was known for his competitive spirit, which extended to his love for baseball and golf, as well as his participation in the Chicago Triathlon in 1984. He served as President of the Chicago Food and Marketing Organization and was awarded Broker of the Year. Navratil is survived by his wife Sharon, daughters Tanya and Cheryl, and his grandchildren. A Celebration of Life is planned for December 27, 2025.
