Windracers, a UK-based cargo drone developer, has inaugurated a new production facility in Fareham, near Southampton, to significantly increase the output of its Ultra aircraft. The 22,000 square meter factory, opened on September 1, aims to more than double the company's production capacity by the end of the year. This expansion is expected to deliver hundreds of Ultra aircraft over the next two years to both civil and defense customers, including the Ukrainian military. The new facility replaces the previous production site at Boscombe Down airfield. Windracers has introduced the Mk2 variant of the Ultra, which offers enhanced payload and performance compared to the Mk1 model.
